The Gunnison Valley Observatory is located exactly 2 miles south of the turn to Hartman Rocks from U.S. Route 50. GVO is on the east or left hand side of the road. Please park in the parking lot and proceed on foot to the observatory. Our volunteer GVO staff will get you oriented once on site.
Gunnison Valley nights can be very cool and telescopic astronomy is largely an outdoor event. For maximum comfort please bring appropriate outerwear such as coats, hats, gloves, thick socks, and blankets.
